I did go back and reread your post. And I will apologize if this post has caused any confusion.

And I'm also sorry about your dick. Poor thing. I'm going to go back and reread that one again too. It's fucking hilarious.

Your main points just reiterate why tipping is bullshit. You didn't really comprehend what I was trying to say.

I still want you to get paid as much as you do with tips, but I want it totally invisible to myself.

For example:

Would you rather work at a place where you received a paycheck equal to your current wage plus the equivalent of about 18% of every table to wait (in the form of an increased wage, as the price of the meals is increased to mask any gratuity from the customer) in addition to potentially receive a real tip if someone really enjoys your service

OR

Deal with the current system where you might not get your deserved tip and potentially have to share/split the tips and live with a constantly variable pay check.

If you say tipping isn't bullshit, you are saying you prefer the latter, but if you think the former sounds good, you'd be agreeing with my previous post in that the entire U.S. tipping institution is bullshit.

I'm not saying people shouldn't tip. I'm just saying the current system is crap and there is a better way. I'd appreciate it if you reread my post with this in mind and rethink this post.

Also, I sort of agree with the race thing, though only from the viewpoint that in the U.S., non-whites statistically tend to be poorer. The factors as to why are varied and numerous, and I have little interest in discussing them right now, but an abstracted-out tipping system would, quite literally, enforce the "Having enough money for food AND tip" argument, as the cost of the food itself would be inflated.
